Crown Financial Ministries®, founded in 1976, is an interdenominational ministry dedicated to equipping people around the world to learn, apply, and teach biblical financial principles. Crown has taught or equipped more than 50 million people in more than 30 nations with the life-transforming message of faithfully living by God's financial principles in every area of their lives. The ministry is located in the United States, Canada, Latin America, South America, and Africa, and is expanding into Europe, India, Asia, and Australia. Crown relies on approximately 250 employees and over 10,000 passionate volunteers worldwide to help ignite True Financial Freedom around the globe.

Jan Strydom, born and raised in South Africa, completed a BA Honours in Social Studies at the University of Potchefstroom, as well as a degree in Theology through CLF. His prior experience includes 7 years in corporate business, 4 years as Registrar at the University of Vista and 13 years as the Pastor of a local church. Jan is a regular speaker at various national and international conferences, teaching on financial and marital issues. Jan has been happily married to Alet for 25 years and they live in Cape Town, the mother city of South Africa. They have one daughter, Adonike.
Jan and Alet have been the National Directors of Marriage Ministries International since September 1997. Their passion to help people to become financially free, led them to contact Crown Financial Ministries situated in Atlanta, Georgia. Jan was subsequently appointed as the National Director to South Africa in July 2001 and on 1 April 2005 took up the position of Vice President of Crown Africa.
Alet, who served as a teacher for 16 years, assists Jan as Operations Director.

Dr Mario Denton has been a friend of the ministry for many years and has been actively involved on an informal basis in more ways than one, amongst others as Board Member of Family Life Training since 2003. When the position for International Field Continental Programme Director – Marketplace became available, Mario felt led by the Lord to take on the challenge.
Mario is an optimist who possesses a passion for people and tutoring and a real love for life. He has devoted his career to people management and facilitating complex and perpetual change. Mario uses his strong academic, corporate background and his uniquely effective coaching to help people tap into their inner being to utilise their strengths and expand their skills.
Married since 1979 and the father of three sons, Mario is highly qualified in both business and industrial psychology. He comes with a wealth of specialised knowledge, energy and fresh insights and Crown Africa is proud to have him aboard.

Daniel and Janine Grey joined Crown Africa early in March this year. Daniel takes care of Web development and all IT developments and Janine, with her valuable expertise in communications and administration, was appointed as Administrative Assistant to Jan Strydom.
Daniel was born in 1973 in Vereeniging, South Africa. Growing up, his parents were actively involved in YWAM and later also ‘Campus Crusade for Christ’. This established a firm love for the work of ministry. At a young age, Daniel heard the call of God into His service and specifically into the church and missions. After high school he went on to study degrees in Theology, Education and Ethics. He specifically enjoyed teaching and became involved with a large theological training centre in Pretoria, South Africa, where he spent most of his adult life teaching and discipling young people.

Crown Financial Ministries is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organisation. We conform to the standards established by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. This assures the public that Crown Financial Ministries, Inc. adheres to ethical accounting, administration, and fundraising practices.
We also have an independent audit of our funds performed annually.

Statement of faith
- We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God. It is without error in all its teaching.
- We believe that there is one God, Lord of the universe, eternally existent in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
- We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His perfect, sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to heaven to the right hand of God the Father; and in His personal and visible return in power and glory.
- We believe that all people are lost sinners and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
- We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
- We believe that all people will be resurrected-those who are saved to eternal life and those who are lost to eternal damnation.
- We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
- We believe that God, as Creator, is the ultimate Owner of all possessions on earth. God has given people the authority to be stewards of those possessions and the responsibility to faithfully manage them according to the principles in the Word of God.
History
Howard Dayton and Larry Burkett were acquaintances for many years and were close friends since the early 1990s. Howard had founded Crown Ministries on September 19, 1985. He recognized that Crown Ministries was doing an excellent job one church at a time with small study groups in many parts of the country and the world, but he had a vision to reach millions - not thousands. Larry had seen phenomenal growth in the outreach of Christian Financial Concepts since he founded it on May 6, 1976, and his radio broadcast was well recognized. Yet, the one area he wanted to impact with small study groups was the local church.
Almost simultaneously, God began a process of prompting both Howard and Larry with an uneasy sense that there was something more that their ministries should be doing. The same Scripture reference kept prompting both Larry and Howard to seek a better way:
"Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?"

After much study, discussion, and a lot of prayer, the boards of both Crown Ministries and Christian Financial Concepts unanimously agreed to merge into a new organization, Crown Financial Ministries, on September 7, 2000. Howard assumed the role of CEO, and Larry continued to do radio broadcasts and served as the chairman of the board until his home-going on July 4, 2003. The union of these two healthy ministries created an unprecedented alliance that will have a far-reaching impact on the church in America and around the world. In fact, Crown's vision established by Larry and Howard to teach God's financial principles to more than 5 percent of the world's population (approximately 300 million) by 2015 is the vision that continues to drive the ministry today.
